This is Maynard our Elhew Pointer hunting grouse in the field.
He is the sire of the two Elhew pointer puppies pictured below.
These Elhew setters are bred for grouse and woodcock hunters, close quartering,
and very staunch on point, they need very little training to staunch
them up, all their abilities are innate or deeply bred into them. They
are the most suburb of all bird dogs, they can find a bird anywhere,
their noses are so finely honed. Their personalities are super
sweet, really a good family dog, with a gentle touch, there is not a
mean or aggressive bone in these little guys. They learn real quick and
they listen real well and just are real alert to their environment,
these little 4 weeks old Elhew setter puppies are just like dad and
are listening and watching everything, really nice, high quality
dogs. These bird dogs work real close especially in thick cover.
